Harris of Itasca, Texas, moved to second in the first round at the Reno Rodeo just days after returning from a special roughstock event in Calulo, Angolo, Africa. He and saddle bronc rider Cody DeMoss returned victorious from Africa on Friday, June 20 and they both competed in Reno on Sunday night, June 22 turning in the highest scores in their respective events. Cooper twins skyrocket to the top of the leaderboard at Reno Rodeo[Jun. 22, 2008] The Cooper twins made their first appearance at the “big dance” known as the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo last year and with team roping runs like they turned in on Saturday night at the Reno Rodeo, they will be back there this December. Bello rides Hill Top to lead the 89th annual Reno Rodeo on opening night[Jun. 21, 2008] Australian turned Utah cowboy Anthony Bello had a great opening night at the 89th annual Reno Rodeo riding Rosser Rodeo's Hill Top for 86 points. Bello, who currently resides in Oakley and won the 2007 Dodge National Circuit Finals Rodeo, edged Justin Arnold of Santa Margarita, Calif., by one point to take the early lead in the saddle bronc riding. Arnold posted an 85 on Flying U Rodeo’s Sam’s Town. Both cowboys will be back on Saturday night during the second performance of the Reno Rodeo for their second round horse and they hope to at least equal or improve on their first round score to secure their spot in the final round on June 28. PRCA Announces Significant New Investment In Circuit At Annual Membership Meeting[Jun. 10, 2008] PRCA Chairman of the Board Keith Martin announced the Board's unanimous decision to bolster the PRCA Circuit System, which, in Martin's words, is "the backbone of the PRCA." Starting in 2008, the PRCA will contribute an additional $500,000 per year into the PRCA Circuit System. The 12-circuit system includes the Badlands, California, Columbia River, First Frontier, Great Lakes, Montana, Mountain States, Prairie, Southeastern, Texas, Turquoise and Wilderness Circuits, as well as the Dodge National Circuit Finals Rodeo, which is a vital part of the circuit package. 2008 WPRA World Finals rolls into Tulsa, OK, Nov. 18-22[Jun. 9, 2008] In a joint press conference on June 5, at the Tulsa (Okla.) Expo Square’s Ford Arena, the Tulsa Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Tulsa Expo Square officially welcomed the Women's Professional Rodeo Association (WPRA) and their World Finals, scheduled for Nov. 18-22, to the city of Tulsa. The WPRA Wrangler World Finals Rodeo will feature the best women in the rodeo business competing for world titles in team roping, breakaway roping, tie-down roping, bareback and bull riding. Barrel racing will also be featured and an event champion will be crowned but the world champion will be crowned at the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas, Dec. 4-13. By Courtesy WPRA
