Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association News - Heartland ProRodeo Championships lift tie-down roper to Wrangler NFR[Oct. 11, 2008] WACO, Texas - Being crowned an inaugural Heartland ProRodeo Series champion on Oct. 11 at the Heart O' Texas Fair Complex will be an honor, indeed. But some cowboys, like Texas tie-down roper Scott Kormos, got an extra perk at the nine-performance competition. With a second-place finish Friday night, Kormos' $6,816 in prize money from Waco should move him into the Top 15 in the Crusher Rentals PRCA World Standings and unofficially qualify him for the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo, Dec. 4-13, in Las Vegas. PRCA Rodeo News - Key to Heartland finals is to keep advancing[Oct. 10, 2008] WACO, Texas-The storylines at the Heartland ProRodeo Championships are many and that's what makes the rodeo so much fun for contestants, fans and organizers. Add in that it is crunch time of the rodeo season and the drama unfolds. Just take the bareback riding of the challenge round held at the Heart O' Texas Fair Complex.

Field of 12 set for PRCA Heartland's challenge round[Oct. 9, 2008] WACO, Texas - The warm-up is over and the field has been thinned as the preliminary rounds of the Heartland ProRodeo Championships concluded Oct. 8 at the Heart O'Texas Fair Complex. The field of 30 in each event was cut to 12 through six rounds of preliminary action that began on Oct. 3...Cowboys begin a playoff format Oct. 9 with hopes of becoming the inaugural Heartland ProRodeo champion. Scores are erased and competition begins again as the field is then further reduced to 10 on Oct. 10 and then eight at 7 p.m. (CT) on Oct. 11, immediately followed by a final four battle for championship buckles. Wrangler Canadian Professional Rodeo Tour Championship coming to Calgary[Oct. 1, 2008] The Wrangler Canadian Professional Rodeo Tour Championship will be held in Calgary, Alta. at the Calgary Stampede’s Corral on October 3-5, 2008...This new event on the Canadian Professional Rodeo Association's calendar features twelve contestants in each of the six major events (saddle bronc, bareback, bull riding, tie-down roping, steer wrestling and ladies barrel racing) as well as team roping. Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association (PRCA) MEMBERSHIP OVERWHELMINGLY REJECTS PROPOSED RESTRUCTURING[Sep. 29, 2008] The Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) announced today that its members overwhelmingly voted down a proposal to restructure the PRCA...The voting, which was presided over by an objective Special Master, took place at a special membership meeting this morning in Colorado Springs. The purpose of the meeting was to consider proposed changes to the PRCA bylaws, put forth by a dissident member who sought to fundamentally restructure the PRCA and create a direct majority rule system. Some still trying for extra push as season finishes[Sep. 25, 2008] The Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association regular season all but concludes this weekend...All money earned at PRCA rodeos through the end of the month counts toward qualifying for the Dec. 4-13 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas. But beginning Oct. 1, winnings count toward the 2009 world title races.
