Known as a man of courage and boldness, award-winning country/western/cowboy performer Royal Wade Kimes has released a new video on YouTube that’s grabbing the attention of viewers from all over the nation. The singer/songwriter’s video for his powerful, thought-provoking song “1969” is being file-shared on YouTube, Facebook and MySpace. The clip for “1969” may be Royal Wade’s best since his Top 10 Video for “Another Man’s Sky,” released on Asylum Records.

Though “1969” is blatantly political, the song raises a question that needs to be asked: What did the 1969 generation – who touted peace and love – truly believe? The video points out that the people who were the ‘60s generation are now “Big Brother.” These one-time “hippies” are now members of government, educational institutions and other groups, and, as such, they are doing everything they can to limit our personal freedoms and to reduce the role of God in American society – the exact opposite of what they preached 40 plus years ago. As the lyrics for “1969” proclaim, they’ve asked Jesus to leave town. And the song’s line The ones that once cried peace are the ones turned on me leaves no doubt as to the identity of the culprits.

“1969” is a video with a lot to say in three minutes and promises to leave the viewer asking questions they never thought to ask before. “If you’re with me on what I have to say in this song, please pass this video on to as many folks as you can,” declares Royal Wade. “Download it, share it, proclaim it – and help me take back our freedom!” Royal Wade has never paid penance to political correctness and his new video charges the 1969 generation – and rightly so – with a whole wagon load of hypocrisy.
