NASHVILLE, Tenn. – September 10, 2009 – Kentucky native Nathan Lee Jackson releases his debut CD, Complicated Hearts, on September 15, 2009 (StarCity Recording Company). Jackson plays piano throughout the recording and wrote/co-wrote each of the 13 songs including the striking new single, “Desperate Man.”

"I'm a young guy, but this album represents over a decade's worth of dreaming, working, and soul-searching,” says Jackson. “It was a surreal moment the other day when I finally held the shrink-wrapped album in my hands. This is the album I've always dreamed of making, and this is the opportunity I've dreamed of having!"

Jackson joins boutique label, StarCity Recording Company for the album’s release. Run by Grammy-nominated producer and engineer Jeff Glixman (Georgia Satellites, Kansas) and musician/songwriter Jim Gentile, the agreement jumped from a developmental deal to a full blown recording contract immediately after Jackson delivered the first three songs. Glixman, Jackson and Zak Rizvi produced Complicated Hearts.

“Nathan Lee came to my attention through a mutual friend and I was immediately taken with his voice,” says Glixman. “When I heard the demo of ‘POWERFUL,’ I got on a plane and flew to meet him in Lexington, KY. Nathan writes from the heart. His music is as wonderful and descriptive as reading a great story where one becomes immersed in the sense of time, place and experience. Nathan Lee Jackson is real. This is a beautiful album and I'm thrilled to be part of it.”

The lead single, “Desperate Man,” co-written by Jackson and Bud Tower, describes an armed robbery as both men – the thief and the victim – struggle with the life-changing event. The message of forgiveness has been connecting with radio listeners across the country – “Desperate Man” has been added to stations in San Francisco, Monmouth, NJ, Modesto, CA, Norfolk, VA and others. Jackson has been traveling throughout the U.S. with his radio promotion team, Nine North, meeting and performing for fans.

Complicated Hearts is dedicated to Jackson’s mom, Carolyn, who passed away from cancer in 2008.

About Nathan Lee Jackson:
Hailing from Winchester, in the heart of Kentucky bluegrass country, Nathan Lee Jackson came of age during country music’s new wave of the late ‘80s and early ‘90s. But along with the music of Garth Brooks and Alabama, Jackson was exposed to the sounds of Motown and the contemporary Christian songs he heard in church. Recognizing his call to music, Jackson moved to Nashville shortly after high school graduation and began songwriting in earnest. He caught the ear of Jeff Glixman, famed producer of 1970’s progressive rock band Kansas and the two, along with Zak Rizvi, teamed up to produce Jackson’s debut album, Complicated Hearts.
