Jake McVey was born and raised Southeast Iowa and along with Nashville, TN stills calls Iowa home.
Jake has taken the long road to success in the music business, he regularly performs 300 show a year with his full time band. Jake's biggest assets are his work ethic, as well as his willingness to take time to give back. Of the 300 plus shows a year Jake performs about half are part of Jake's "Pay it Forward" (PIF) program. Jake got the inspiration from the movie "Pay it Forward", while most people agree that the concept is special, few have put it into action, Jake is a doer, to date Jake has performed over 300 free shows spreading the message. Jake tries to implement a PIF show as often as possible, in larger cities it is not uncommon for Jake to play 2 and has played 3 PIF show in a single day, then hit the main stage for his concert that evening.
Through out the years Jakes has had numerous independent chart topping hits. His first taste of the national spotlight came in January 2010 with the release of his single "Carry On" although the song broke into the top 100, it was the video that took Jake over the edge. The video to "Carry On" was placed on CMT's new video of the week against Keith Urbans new released video "Til Summer Comes Around", "Carry On" won. The "Carry On" video was then placed in CMTs Pure Country 12 pack countdown where it remained in the top 12 for 15 weeks topping out at number 4.
