Both men worked the professional rodeo circuit, York as a marketing man for Resistol Hats and Dodge Rodeo promotions, and Henderson as a saddle-bronc rider on the professional circuit. Henderson picked and strummed as a social outlet, and York has played harmonica and guitar since childhood.

XM Radio to Launch George Strait Channel
[Mar. 12, 2008] George Strait says he still gets a thrill hearing his songs on the radio, and now he'll have a whole channel of his music to get excited about. "Strait Country" will launch April 1 on XM Radio channel 17 to coincide with the release of the country star's 37th album, "Troubadour," the satellite radio company announced Wednesday.

[Mar. 10, 2008] Country radio programmers and disc jockeys packed a large conference room at the Nashville Convention Center Friday (March 7) to witness a conversation between George Jones and producer-songwriter Norro Wilson. They seemed indifferent to the irony that most country stations won't play the 79-year-old singer's music these days because it lies outside their younger target demographic.
