Nashville, TN (November 5, 2009) --- Country singer/songwriter, Pat Garrett, is garnering airplay with his latest release, “Wild Hog,” that is currently in the Top 20 on the radio download chart. The single and all songs from CountryVersial Tunes are available on all online music outlets that include iTunes, Napster and Rhapsody. The song was written by Garrett and was inspired by the hit movie, “Wild Hogs,” that starred John Travolta, Tim Allen, Martin Lawrence and William H. Macy.

“The movie, Wild Hogs, was done tongue-in-cheek, so my song ‘Wild Hog’ was written with a light hearted attitude also,” says Garrett. “However, I’m serious about riding. There are a lot of us who like to feel the power and hear the thunder of our bikes. It’s something we can control, most of the time, and that’s comforting in a world where we are losing control of a lot of our freedoms. The song is resonating with people because when I play, ‘Wild Hog,’ folks dance to it like it’s Bob Seger's, ‘Old Time Rock And Roll.’”

Garrett recently shot the video for, “Wild Hog,” in his home state of Pennsylvania and it features over two-hundred local motorcycle riders, who performed wheel stands and burn-outs. The video will also spotlight a performance of the song at a local venue with Garret and his band. The video was co-directed by Garrett and his wife/bandmate, Suzy Dalton. New York cinematographer, Jay Felty, Jr, who works with Academy Award winning filmmaker, Sam Pollard, oversaw the location shoots.

CO5 Music is handling radio promotion for, “Wild Hog,” and is being spearheaded by David Newmark, Vice President, Business Development, West Coast Promotion and Marketing, CO5 Nashville. “Pat Garrett's ‘Wild Hog’ is a throwback to when it was fun to listen to radio for the average audience, who want to lighten up their day with music that makes them feel good. Pat has no problem doing that as evidenced by the terrific new songs on his upcoming CD, CountryVersial Tunes.

The single is from Garrett’s latest album, CountryVersial Tunes, which is a play on the word, controversial, as Garrett has been known to create a stir with some of his song lyrics such as the rockin,’ “Stick Your Oil.” Stick your oil where the sun don’t shine/We’re burnin’ our own fuel and doin’ just fine/In the Land of the Free ain’t gonna be no Gas Lines/So stick your oil where the sun don’t shine. “BailOut” is getting the strongest response from fans at Garrett’s concerts and deals with our current economic situation. Our Country is going down the TUBES/Congress Is givin’ our Money to those BANKER Boobs/It’s a total disgrace, Didn't they lose it in the first place?/OH Yeah, give ‘em another trillion or two. “Rollin’ Your Own,” is about the high taxes on cigarettes, “Wild Girls” is a Caribbean flavored tune, and Garrett shows his softer side with the thoughtful ballad, “Heartless Man.”

CountryVersial Tunes also features the national hit song, “Moose Shootin’ Mama,” that was written for former Vice Presidential candidate, Sarah Palin. Garrett performed the tune at McCain/Palin rallies and on national television outlets, Fox News and ABC News.
Garrett is a well-known music row songwriter who has recorded nine country albums during his career, which resulted in six nationally charted Billboard singles. He has had his song, “Bad Woman,” cut by England’s punk rock group, Artic Monkey and “Suck It In,” recorded by the polka king, Jimmy Sturr. Closer to home, Garrett’s songs have been recorded by such high-profile country artists as Hoyt Axton and Tommy Cash. Garrett is also known for his political compositions that include, “The Saddam Stomp,” which was a Billboard charted song and was featured in Rolling Stone, ABC News and Country Weekly. “If You Love America,” was written in response to the tragedy on September 11, 2001 and Garrett donated thousands of dollars in profits to the American Red Cross in support of the Americans who lost their lives that fateful day.
