NASHVILLE, Tenn. – January 21, 2010 – Root 49 Records in conjunction with Nine North Records and GrassRoots Promotion is taking Bridgette Tatum, the hard working hit maker to radio with her debut single, “(I Like My) Cowboys Dirty.” The song can be found on Tatum’s upcoming release, Sex. Church & Chicken, and is available now for download on iTunes, Amazon.com and all digital retailers. Tatum was recently named among Roughstock’s “Ones to Watch: The Class of 2010” and earned the honor of “Most Played Country Song of 2009” (MediaBase) as co-writer of Jason Aldean’s mega-hit, “She’s Country.” The songstress is also the subject of Country Weekly’s “Who’s New” feature this week (Jan. 25, on newsstands now).
“I think those girls that would shy away from a song like this don’t want their cowboys dirty and that's ok, but for the rest of us girls...bring on the hard workin’, hot sweatin’ men,” says Tatum. “I'm overboard excited about releasing ‘(I Like My) Cowboys Dirty’ and I am thinking about starting a search party for the men described in this tune…any joiners?”
Written by Danny Myrick, Kirsti Manna and Darla Perlozzi, the song has received rave reviews from both media and radio. Tatum has been touring the country visiting with radio stations during the last six months.
"Bridgette Tatum rocks. ….With this one song Bridgette Tatum, who co-wrote Jason Aldean’s “She’s Country,” has set herself up as an artist truly worth paying attention to. Hell, with that husky vibrato-filled voice of hers, she may even become country music’s own Pat Benatar or Joan Jett or Nancy Wilson. “Cowboys Dirty” should be but the first of quite a few hits for Bridgette.”

“This sultry vocalist pours s-e-x all over this lyric about doing it on the kitchen floor because the smell of a hunk’s sweat turns her on. Needless to say, it’s a rocker.” – Music Row
“What a wonderful talent. Did a few test spins on ‘Cowboys Dirty’ and the phones blew up! The thing that impresses me the most is that the whole album is fantastic. No one hit wonder with Bridgette Tatum!” - KIXZ, Paul Neumann, Spokane, WA
“Bridgette Tatum ROCKS! Great reaction from her on the show…When you hear her sing, you KNOW that it’s not just another cookie-cutter act. She’s the real deal!” - Big D & Bubba
Tatum filmed a video for “(I Like My) Cowboys Dirty” in October 2009. Root 49 Records and GrassRoots Promotion are offering a widget featuring the video and a special artist commentary to all interested websites. The “director’s cut” version features Bridgette and songwriter Danny Myrick giving a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the video. Tidbits include the identity of the mystery cowboy, how to create a mud pit and how she recruited random men to star in the video.
Bridgette Tatum and producer Danny Myrick recorded Tatum’s debut album, Sex. Church & Chicken, at The Studio at The Palms in Las Vegas, christening the studio as the first country act to ever record there. The 11 tracks reflect Tatum’s many personalities, effortlessly transitioning from defiant, amped-up rockers to tender, intimate ballads to straight-shooting social commentaries. Sex. Church & Chicken will be released by Root 49 Records in 2010.
About Bridgette Tatum:
The firecracker brunette was raised on the tent revival brand of soul-shaking gospel, swirling with the Holy Spirit and saturated with raw passion. Music coursed through her veins, seeping deep into her bones, and manifesting as the powerful sultry wailing and soulful crooning that brand Bridgette’s sound uniquely as her own. Bridgette moved to Nashville and worked her way up to the honky-tonks on Broadway and a regular Friday night gig at the Star Café in White’s Creek. It wasn’t until she found a kindred spirit in manager Carolyn Miller, however, that her career began to really take shape.
It was through the encouragement of Carolyn, that Bridgette collaborated musically with the man whom came to be her future producer, Danny Myrick. Their partnership proved as successful in songwriting: they co-wrote “She’s Country,” a #1 hit for Jason Aldean, as well as many of the songs on Bridgette’s forthcoming album, Sex. Church & Chicken. Bridgette is currently touring the country promoting her debut single, "(I Like My) Cowboys Dirty."
