NASHVILLE, TN – Monday, February 8, 2010 – Williams Riley, Golden Music Nashville’s flagship act which hails from Louisiana, raced into the recording studio to update their “Who Dat Roll (Just Won the Super Bowl),” a universal anthem celebrating the Black & Gold, NFL Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints.
A tribute to the infamous Cajun exclamation, “Who dat say they’re gonna beat dem Saints?,” the band’s earlier version has been garnering TV and radio airplay since being released when the Saints reached the 12-0 mark this season. On the new version, in celebration of the Saints’ victory, the last line of the chorus as been changed from “We’re shootin’ for the Super Bowl” to “Just won the Super Bowl.” The new version is already garnering spins at KMDL-FM/Lafayette, KXKS-FM/Shreveport, and WFUS-FM/Tampa, among several others.
Travis Thibodaux, drummer for Williams Riley penned the song with his father, Gary Paul and friend Shea Michaels. Born and raised in Raceland, Louisiana, Thibodaux and his father have been writing and recording together since Travis was 12 years old. “The Who Dat Roll” is born from their Cajun roots.
“The pride we feel for our Black and Gold is unbelievable. This is a long time coming for us diehard fans, and the people of the Louisiana deserve such an uplifting celebration,” comments Williams Riley lead singer, Steve Williams, a resident of Laroche, Louisiana.
