Nashville, Tenn. May 8, 2010 –As the flood waters start to recede and the people of Middle Tennessee begin a massive clean up and recovery effort, BLEVE Records wants to remind everyone to remember our First Responders.

In any disaster, Fire Fighters, Police Officers, and Paramedics are the first to respond and must remain on the scene. They face extreme danger often risking their own lives in the service of others. In addition, many of these individuals suffer great personal and financial losses, and their families are forced to fend for themselves in the midst of the disaster.

During the month of May, all proceeds from the sale of music and merchandise purchased through the BLEVE website (www.blevemusic.com) will be donated to the local FOP and IAFF organizations to aid Middle Tennessee First Responders who lost their own homes or suffered personal losses while helping others.

BLEVE Records is an independent record label that is officially endorsed by the National Fraternal Order of Police and the International Association of Fire Fighters. BLEVE’s mission is, and has always been, to provide support to Fire Fighters, Police Officers, Paramedics and their families in times of need. BLEVE donates all proceeds to the two organizations’ National Disaster Relief Funds. In the past, the Disaster Relief Funds have assisted First Responders and their families following the September 11 attacks, devastating hurricanes and wildfires, as well as such tragedies as the Lakewood police slayings.

Unfortunately, the Disaster Relief Fund is dangerously close to depletion due to increased need, loss of sponsorships, and decreased donations in tough economic times.

BLEVE Records CEO and founder Mickey Milam says, “First Responders are always first on the scene. I started BLEVE because I wanted to help the FOP and IAFF be first on the scene for their members when they need it most.” For more information, please visit www.blevemusic.com or contact mickeymilam@blevemusic.com
