The Stockton Oil Company Northern Rodeo Association Finals rides into Billings’ MetraPark Arena on Feb. 18-20, at 7 p.m. each night. The 35th annual rodeo will showcase top bucking stock and contestants such as NFR qualifiers Beau Franzen and Shelley Murphy riding for shares of a $60,000 purse. Plus, a Friday night concert by Kentucky Headhunters is free with your rodeo ticket.
With more than 1,200 cowboys and cowgirls competing at 42 sanctioned rodeos throughout the summer rodeo season, the NRA is one of the largest regional rodeo associations in the United States, and its Finals showcase only the top ten contestants in each of seven events.
The Kentucky Headhunters is a Grammy Award-winning country rock band that redefined country in the 1990s, starting with its double-platinum debut album, Pickin’ On Nashville. The band has released seven studio albums and 20 singles that include the hits “Oh Lonesome Me,” “Walk Softly on This Heart of Mine,” “Rock n Roll Angel,” and “Dumas Walker.”
Also, for the seventh straight year, the NRA Finals coincides with the Northwest’s premier agricultural and home/health trade show – the Montana Agri-Trade Exposition. The three-day MATE show annually attracts more than 300 exhibitors and some 20,000 attendees from across Canada and the U.S., and runs Feb. 18-10 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily at MetraPark’s Expo Center.
