Royal Wade Kimes’ first Country Gospel single ‘Desperate Men’, released through Wonderment Records and distributed to radio by Hope Street Music Group, has come riding in at Number One on the Country Gospel Connection Chart. ‘Desperate Men’ was written by Royal Wade and his long time friend, Kent Blazy, who has written several hits for Royal Wade Kimes, Garth Brooks and others.
When people come to Nashville they come with dreams and hopes, Royal Wade Kimes was no different. He has realized many of his dreams with platinum and gold records, album of the year, video of the year and now his first number one gospel single.
Kimes said, “I guess if anyone was to describe me it would be ‘determined’, I’m not one to give up easily. I’ve always wanted to do a gospel record, I think Gospel and Western music go together. I can’t remember being happier about a record than ‘White Light’ and the single ‘Desperate Men’.”
What makes this record so special is that Royal Wade wanted to do gospel music for years but for various reasons it was not to be until now. This is his ninth album, but his first and only gospel CD. The CD ‘White Light’ is distributed through Select-O-Hits nationally and also can be found on many .com’s such as Amazon, CDBaby and others. The next single will be ‘Heavenly Eyes’ which happens to be the song that caused the project to happen originally.
