Nashville, TN (June 7, 2010) -- Mark Wayne Glasmire returns to The Bluebird Cafe ( http://bluebirdcafe.com ) with a hit single, "You Opened My Eyes," and the Grand Prize (Country Division) in the Chris Austin Songwriting Competition. Glasmire reunites with pals Tirk Wilder, Lucas P. Gravell and Tom Guardino for an evening in-the-round that starts at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 29. The show is free, but seating is limited.

Glasmire's powerful ballad, "You Opened My Eyes," is currently climbing the Music Row Chart. The single was #1 for three consecutive weeks on the European HotDisc Chart and logged two weeks at #1 on the New Christian Music Chart as well. During Merlefest in April, Mark performed his CASC-winning song, and he was also honored as a finalist in the 2010 Wildflower Songwriting Contest last month. Glasmire will perform at the legendary Kerrville Folk Festival on June 10.

"There's definitely been a lot to celebrate of late," says Mark from his Texas home. "But my heart goes out to the victims of the Middle Tennessee flood." To lend a hand to those in need, Glasmire performed at WKSR Radio's (Pulaski, TN) benefit show last week.
