Nashville, TN – Dec. 3, 2009 – Platinum selling Capitol Nashville group Lady Antebellum nabbed multiple GRAMMY nominations last night for “Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group With Vocals” and “Best Country Song” for their recent No. one hit “I Run To You.” The 52nd annual GRAMMY Awards will be broadcast on Sun., Jan. 31 live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles on CBS. The critically acclaimed trio will release their sophomore album NEED YOU NOW that very same week on Jan. 26, 2010.

“We’re already busting at the seams with excitement about the new album…adding the GRAMMYs in that same week is crazy,” said Lady Antebellum’s Hillary Scott. “The nominees are all so talented…the most fun part for us is just being able to go and see some of these artists…who we are all HUGE fans of…perform on the show. The collaborations and over-the-top production are always so creative and unpredictable…we love it! We have an enormous amount of gratitude to the music community for even inviting us to the party!”

The good news comes as Lady A makes history as the first country group to break the Top 10 of Billboard’s all genre Hot 100 chart since the Dixie Chicks in 2007. They cracked the top five last week with their multi-week No. one hit “Need You Now.” The band becomes only the third country group to ever appear in the Hot 100’s Top 10 this decade.

“Need You Now” is also spending its third consecutive week at No. one on both country charts in the U.S. and its eighth consecutive week at No. one on the Billboard Canada Country chart. Last week, the track garnered Nielsen BDS’ largest audience impressions (39.3 million) of any country song since 2006. Additionally, the song has been country music’s top-selling digital single for three consecutive weeks fueling almost 900,000 downloads and keeping sales of their 2007 debut album steady at over 40,000 units per week.
