BLACKBERRY SMOKE TO SUPPORT KID ROCK AT SOLD-OUT SHOWS AUGUST 13 AND 14 IN MICHIGAN

Atlanta-based outlaw southern country/rock group BLACKBERRY SMOKE will take to the stage as support for KID ROCK. Currently on tour in support of their latest album LITTLE PIECE OF DIXIE (BamaJam Records), BLACKBERRY SMOKE will open two back-to-back sold-out performances--Friday, August 13 and Saturday, August 14--at the DTE Energy Music Theatre in Clarkston, MI.

Lead singer CHARLIE STARR expresses the band’s excitement about the upcoming shows. "We're all fired up about getting the opportunity to play with the pride of Detroit right in his own back yard. He's always been great to us and he is truly an ambassador of music! We hope his fans don't mind if we slide our dixie-fried thang right up in there."

The band--STARR, sibling rhythm section RICHARD and BRIT TURNER (bass and drums, respectively), guitarist PAUL JACKSON and keyboardist BRANDON STILL--will also take part in a special concert event on Saturday, September 11 in Columbia, S.C., “Kid Rock Salutes the Troops presented by Jim Beam: Patriot Day 2010.”

As part of their ongoing support of America’s service members, Jim Beam® Bourbon and Kid Rock will host this special event to honor our nation’s heroes. BLACKBERRY SMOKE has been asked to open the show which will be free for all service members who present a military ID. Tickets are available to the general public at Ticketmaster outlets orticketmaster.com through a pre-sale on August 4 and to the public starting August 6.

BLACKBERRY SMOKE’S loud-and-proud, slide guitar-infused single “Good One Comin’ On” topped CMT’s Pure Country Countdown for weeks and was recently added to all Cumulus Radio country stations. Little Piece of Dixie was also re-released with a very special bonus track: “Yesterday’s Wine,” a cover of Willie Nelson’s hit featuring George Jones, Jamey Johnson and BLACKBERRY SMOKE frontman Charlie Starr all trading vocals, and it’s a tour de force. This unique track is available free for download on the newly re-launched BLACKBERRY SMOKE website:http://www.blackberrysmoke.com/home/item/21-free-download-yesterdays-wine.html.
