Homer Joy's "John Law" is back at the top of the Independent Music Network (IMN) Country charts - for the sixth time.
Now the guys at IMN are checking whether any other artist has been to the top as many times with one song.
The track, taken from Joy's aptly titled "Someday It'll Be Country" album, was the last recorded by Buck Owens - one of Joy's long time friends - before he died in 2006.
The song first charted on IMN last summer and quickly rose to top slot. It was knocked off but bounced back. Christmas's seasonal sales always change the shape of the charts, but in January, "John Law" hit the top for the fifth time, and folks started talking about a record breaking song.
It's popularity dipped but when the latest chart was published this week,, the song was back at the top
Gary Hendrix, CEO of IMN said today: "Once again 'John Law' is #1 on our Country Charts. You can't keep a good song down---or good man like Homer Joy, either. The song and Homer Joy are what Country is all about."
Joy, who recently moved from Oklahoma to California, was the man who gave the world the Country music classic, "Streets Of Bakersfield".
And the success of the first single has led his label, First Stone Productions, to announce that more tracks from his album - "Someday It'll Be Country" will be released as singles during 2008.
