ALL PROCEEDS TO BENEFIT HARVEST HANDS COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION

LAST YEAR’S PERFORMANCE RAISED OVER $30,000 FOR HARVEST HANDS CDC

Multi-platinum country singer-songwriter JO DEE MESSINA’s second annual Christmas concert benefiting Nashville’s Harvest Hands Community Development Corporation (CDC)--set for this Saturday, December 4--will be streamed live on www.jodeemessina.com (7:00 PM Central). The “Inspirational Evening of Words and Music with JO DEE MESSINA” takes place at Brentwood United Methodist Church and will benefit the non-profit, faith-based organization in South Nashville. Fans unable to attend the show--now expanded to two sets and including a youth choir--will now be able to watch live and make donations online.

Tickets for the free show--concert-goers are asked to donate a “love offering” for this incredible cause--are available online via www.jodeemessina.com, www.harvesthandscdc.com and www.bumc.net. Last year, JO DEE’s event “sold out” two concerts with all 3000 free tickets claimed and raised over $30,000. This year, JO DEE will perform one show at 7:00PM in the format of her “Music Room Series” tour, where she will take requests, chat with fans and talk of her faith journey. The Brentwood United Methodist Church will open a “Holiday Gift Shop” at 6:00PM where Harvest Hands Community products such as Humphreys Street Coffee™ and WOW! Soap™ benefiting Harvest Hands will be sold.

“I feel so blessed to be able to help folks give to the Harvest Hands,” says JO DEE. “And I’m grateful that Brentwood United Methodist Church is again, this year, facilitating the cause.”

In an interview with Tonic.com in conjunction with last year’s event, JO DEE said: "This is not something where they go in from 9 to 5 and then go back to their house in the hills. He (Reverend Brian Hicks) and his wife live there, in the inner city. They went into this community and said, 'What do you need from us?’ The first thing they did was go in and knock down a crack house. The church bought it, went in, knocked it down and made a playground out of it. This is not people throwing money at a problem; they're living in the midst of it and helping with their time and their love and understanding."
