Buck Owens will long be remembered for his contributions to country music. That is a fact and in honor of these contributions the family and friends of the legend will be celebrating his birthday on August 12th and August 14th in three different states. The first celebration wil be at Buck Owens' Crystal Palace, Bakersfied, CA, featuring Martina McBride along with Chris Hillman, Herb Pedersen, Buddy Alan Owens, the Buckaroos and Monty Byrom. Doors will open at 5 PM and the festivities will begin at 6:30 PM. Tickets for this special occassion will be from $115 to $150, including dinner. Nationally known and Texas top country musicians are gather in Austin at the Continental Club locted at 1315 S. Congress in Austin, Texas, to celebrate the 17th Annual Buck Owens Birthday Bash on August 12th, Starting at 8 PM they will play some of his most popular tunes with proceeds benefitting the Center for Child Protection, the first stop for abused and neglected children in Travis County. Buck was born in Sherman, Texas, and the town is planning to celebrate this occasion on August 14th at the Kidd-Key Auditorium. The show which will feature music from his son, Buddy Alan Owens. His co-star, Fiddler Jana Jae, (from The Buckaroos and Hee Haw) will also perform. Although the performance begin at 8 PM the cake will be served along with a Q & A with the stars, and an autograph signing at 7:00PM. Tickets for the Party & Concert are $12.
