Shannon Walker : That's Why God Made Me

Shannon Walker has one of those "user-friendly" Country voices well suited to songs like "That's Why God Made Me".
Co-written by Harley Allen, the lyrics verge on twee as they follow love's young dream from kindergarten through unplanned pregnancy and on to family life.
It's the kind of song that makes you go "ahhh" if you're in the right mood, or "yeugh" if you're not.
As a debut single it'll get enough airplay to get Walker's name known. Judging by the other songs I've heard by this guy, his music is on the gentle side of Country music.
There's nothing wrong with that: it's really a question of whether it stands out enough from the crowd. I'm not convinced!

My View: Good debut but may struggle.
