James Le Blanc has written hits for some of the big hitters in Country music including Travis Tritt and Gary Allan. That's a plus.
He's also written hit songs for non-country acts including easy-listening chanteuse, Martina McBride, pop superstar Kenny Chesney and that amazing pop music combo, Rascal Flatts. That's a minus!
Now he's giving a try at being the artist too. "I'm Here" is a pleasant song with hard edged guitar solos and an amazingly large synthesized orchestra to back his very competent vocals.
The lyrics are full of deep and meaningful's - perhaps a little too full - making much of the song sound cliched and overcooked.
But the guy can sing and he can write so I'm not about to dismiss his chances of securing a long term future as a singer. It remains to be seen whether he's gonna be Country or not.
My View: Le Blanc will be filling the Country charts for years as a writer.
