The Roys: "Grandpa's Barn"
|
|
The Roys may well be THE next big Country thing just waiting to happen - but I can't see it.
Their music - what I've heard of it so far - is down-home and pleasant enough, but there's nothing exceptional about it.
I can almost hear the marketing men asking: "What's the unique selling point?" Sadly, even music now needs it's USP, and - sorry guys - there just ain't one here!
This is a string of cliches sung to an unremarkable melody. It's easy on the ear, but it doesn't stand out. And if you don't stand out, you don't make it!
