Julie Burton and Trace Adkins prove that jokes can fail!

Julie Burton : What A Woman Wants

Wow: a real Country tune: a woman singer with a voice that really works and you've got ... a shallow bimbo singing rubbish.

And the PR hype's a little misleading: far from being a debut song, this is a song from the three song EP that follows THREE failed albums!! How's THAT for hype!!

Musically, this is the best. But lyrically, it's a tragedy. Burton jokes (I hope she's joking) that a woman wants:
a credit card with no limit (to spend her man's money till he goes bust);
a cell phone with a million paid minutes (so she can text and talk with her friends rather than talk/spend time with her man);
cream to cover everything. (so she can pretend she's got great skin when, in fact, she's got more craters than the moon).

What's truly funny about this song (see - I DO have a sense of humor) is that this girl will make it big and this may be the break through song.

But Julie wants to take care she isn't labeled as a bimbo beauty queen (Miss West Virginia 2004) with marshmallow brains!

Trace Adkins: Marry For Money

Adkins has the ability to do some of the funniest songs in Country. But like everything - one man's funny is another man's tragic.

Sadly, this romp through Adkins plans to marry for money is about as funny as Wall Street in a  credit crunch.

It simply doesn't work - yet - I think it will be a hit.

That's sad. Perhaps they should have called it tragi-comedy.
