Chris Young - Country Music's BIGGEST undiscovered STAR!

Chris Young : Gettin' You Home (The Black Dress Song)
My Pick of the week!

Chris Young is STILL an undiscovered talent. (You know, I said that a year ago and it's still true. SHAMEFUL).

While other lesser talents come and go and (Lord, help us) hang around, Young is STILL the best "young" singer around today.

His voice is immense, growling so musically it's almost a sin!

The song - an understandably huge success at his gigs - is all about things we don't normally discuss here on Rodeo Attitude.

Suffice to say, his intentions are far from honorable, but it's with his partner so it's all legal and above board (if under the covers).

This SHOULD top the charts for weeks. I suspect it'll get grudging airplay and little chance of bettering a top ten slot.

In a word - BRILLIANT!

Blake Shelton : I'll Just Hold On

That Shelton has one of the finest voices in Country music must now be acknowledged by all but the most cynical.

Lyrically, this is nice - and I hate nice.

Musically it's as catchy as heck and one listen will leave you humming the melody and singing occasional snatches of the words.

But whatever positives I can find for the song are wiped out as Shelton enters the fade with what can only be classed as corny schmaltz. OUCH!

I have little doubt this will top the charts and that's well deserved success for a performer who's been an inconsistent performer to date.

Pat Green : Country Star

I am heavy of heart - a sad reviewer. This is ANOTHER sell out!

Pat Green always patrolled the rebel edge of Country music - apparently steering clear of the Nashville factory.

I guess they finally got to him. While this is far from the worst Nashpop I've heard in 2009, it is distinctly Nashpop.

Gone is the creative edge that made this guy so wonderful to listen to.

Another one bites the dust.
