I Love My Old Bird Dog (& I Love You)
Crossin' Dixon have the potential to be huge, but this excellent song won't break them into the charts.
It's a sad truth that, while Country radio WILL give this airplay - it's the wrong kind of song for the charts. That's a criticism of the charts, NOT the song!
Heck, it's got an original melody; it doesn't rock along like a runaway freight train; it's - well, it's just too good for the charts.
So I suggest the guy's label take a long hard look at the other songs they have and choose one for a rapid follow up release!
