I'm grinning: I must look like a stupid Cheshire cat that just found the cream.
Finally, Australia's biggest export since Fosters Lager has realized the truth of what I'VE been saying for years: if he sang COUNTRY music, he'd be brilliant.
I've reviewed everything he's released and berated his label, and Urban himself, for crossing over to pop music.
But this song is pure Country, and Urban's performance is too. If it's a sign of what his new album is going to be filled with, that's excellent. (But I'm laying no bets!)
And here's an interesting thought: if Urban's fans (most of whom seem to love pop, not Country, music) buy into this song, the crossover will not be the music. It'll be the pop fans embracing COUNTRY music, and that is GOOD NEWS!
My View: Straight in at number 1. (I'm still grinning!)
