Back when Pop was Pop and Country was Country, pop singers oohed
and ahhed meaninglessly to very catchy tunes and sold millions.
Sugarland's new single is a very clever pop song with a Country lyric, and a catchy hook to which they ooh meaninglessly.
And the end result: a brilliant pop song which will top the Country charts because Country radio doesn't know what Country music is, but it KNOWS what sells advertising.
You know: I shouldn't complain. It's a wonderful song and if Country radio's sold out, there's no reason why we should all enjoy a little meaningless pop now and then.
