There is no question that Rissi Palmer CAN be the next big thing in Country music but her new single - "No Air" - is a travesty and it will do her no favors in that quest.
It may well launch her as a pop singer and she could succeed in that field. But if she wants to be a Country singer, she'd better stop releasing rehashed pop songs with Country trimmings.
"No Air" has been a huge pop hit for someone called Jordin Sparks. Palmer and her crew have put banjos, fiddles and pedal steels onto it and called it Country.
Rubbish! Mind you, "Country radio" will love it. At last, they've got a real pop song to play and they won't need to worry about that awful Country stuff for at least three minutes and 55 seconds.
