   Texas Country Music Round-up.

Sunny Sweeney : Ten Years Pass

Sunny Sweeney is one of Country music's greatest undiscovered discoveries.

Few artists have taken Texas Country - Red Dirt Country - call it what you will - to the level she reaches.

"Ten Years Pass" is the latest take from her excellent "Heartbreakers Hall Of Fame" which is one of those albums you really should have in your collection! The single's drooping in the Texas charts this week, but the album holds (I'm told) more even better music.

Bart Crow Band : Understand

This single is the lead off from the band's long awaited album, "Desperate Hearts" - due out next week (March 4) - and it's already up to 23 in the Texas charts.

Chart success in Texas is par for the course for these guys, but my one question is how much longer they'll be true to their Texas roots.

"Understand" suggests they've got their eyes on a  bigger, wider audience. Whether that's a good thing or not remains to be seen.

Shooter Jennings : Slow Train

Daddy was undoubted a hard act to follow, but Shooter Jennings is surely marking out his own musical territory.

"Slow Train" is classic Outlaw Country with all the rough edges and rock influences that made Waylon the artist he was.

But enough about Daddy. Folks who like their Country rough around the edges and honest to the core will love this.

Jennings has the potential to be much bigger than his current standing suggests!
