Dale Wickizer, age 71, died of complications from a stroke suffered earlier this year, in Mesa, Arizona, on August 19th. He was born in Benkelman, Nebraska, and entered professional rodeo as a bull rider, and became a barrelman. His rodeo clown days began at Mesquite for Neal Gay, and continued when he went to work for Jim Shoulders. He also drove truck and did other rodeo-related jobs for Shoulders. He also worked for Jiggs Beutler, rodeo producer, on occasion. He was a Gold Card member of PRCA and also attended Rodeo Clown Reunions, National Finals and various Cowboy Reunions. He is survived by his wife Paula, four step-children and six step-grandchildren and three sisters. Memorials can be sent to Justin Crisis Fund. |
