The stroke had happened so fast. One minute I was talking to my mother on the phone and the next second I was seeing double, felt like I had just gotten off the worst roller coaster ride of my life and could not get out of the chair I was sitting in. I was unable to walk from my bedroom to my office and for the first time in my life I was really scared. I prayed like I had never prayed before. LoriDee stepped up as the youngest temporatry president in any major rodeo groups history She did a great job. Jim went hours without sleep trying to cover both jobs. The it came in the mail. Just a small package. Inside was a bright red blanket just for me. A bright red blanket full of strength, courage, and God's Love. The note said it was from the Prayer Blanket Ministry and that their church had prayed for me over the blanket and that as I slept with it I would feel the love of both Jesus and this congregation so many miles away. A member had told them about me, my light stroke and the work I do for the rodeo world. Each night I now sleep under the bright red blanket I have gained back almost my entire strength and praise God no longer have double vision. I am reminded of that song of my youth, "Jesus loves me this I know....". Jesus does love me and each and every day I ask Him to guide me in my work. Rodeo Attitude is reaching more and more people every day and more and more cowboys and cowgirls are living their lives as role models for our youth. I guess He is doing a pretty good job! |
