Royal Wade Kimes took a break from his current tour to return to Nashville to attend the Professional Bull Rider’s Jack Daniels Invitational stop on the prestigious Built Ford Tough Series presented by Wrangler. Wade is currently on tour promoting both his newest album, “Strikin’ Matches” and serving as a spokesperson for the National Day of the Cowboy to be held on July 28th. Wade has written several songs about rodeo competitors and bull riders in particular including his most recent song, “The Showdown”. He joined the Rodeo Attitude Program while performing at the Viaero Comstock Windmill Festival and was to be the special guest of bull rider and PBR superstar, Clayton Williams. When Clayton’s flight was delayed Rodeo Attitude member, Justin McKee, stepped up as Wade’s special host. Wade has always been a huge bull riding fan could only rave about the event.

This will be the third annual National Day of the Cowboy and Wade is the perfect spokesperson for the American cowboy. Since the age of 12 he has been sitting in the saddle working cattle and learning the ways of the modern day cowboy while listening to tales of his ancestors rich in Western heritage. He started his adult career as a ranch hand for Loretta Lynn. One day he met Eddy Arnold who recognized his talent and the rest is history. After a decade of writing for other artist including Garth Brooks and Diamond Rio he began a stage career of his own. He is one of the few men in Nashville who can honestly write and sing about the life of a cowboy from first hand experience. His work has produced numerous gold and platinum records as well as numerous awards including twice winning the very prestigious Academy of Western Artist’s Will Rogers Award.

Wade who was familiar with the Rodeo Attitude Program through his love of the sport agreed to an interview with Rodeo Attitude’s CEO, Cindy Meyers. It was during this interview that Wade joined the program and wants to do everything he can to promote the program and those that support us. The PBR is also a member of the program and has been a huge supporter. Wade now host his own show on XM radio and also host his annual trail ride each September which raises funds for the “Backpack Program” that feeds children that would normally go hungry on the weekends. With such a busy schedule Rodeo Attitude feels extremely privileged that he took the time to return to Nashville to attend the PBR event. A special thanks to Justin McKee and the PBR for their hospitality.
