May 18-24, 2008 marks Emergency Medical Services appreciation week. First and foremost, I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to Cindy Meyers. Cindy and I have known one another many years. I remember two years ago telling Cindy that I wanted to have a premier sports medicine team that could be taken nationwide. Cindy stepped up as she always does and helped me in getting the Rodeo Attitude Sports Medicine together. Without hesitation, Cindy knew that I had an idea that would work and she lent the Rodeo Attitude name. Jim stepped up, built a beautiful website and they both continue to be the most amazing supporters for us. From the bottom of my heart, I thank you for not only everything you have done for us but for truly blessing me with a friendship that I will carry in my heart for a lifetime.
The partnership among EMS, hospitals, emergency physicians and public health providers is one that is truly unique. We all share gifts that most people don't understand. We see the best of the best and the worst of the worst. Ultimately, we all have one goal in mind.. Saving lifes and making lives better each day.
I would personally like to thank Dr. Michael Peruisch, our physician director. Doc, you stepped up to the plate and you have been through thick and thin getting our team recognized as one of the top sports medicine teams in the country. Your sacrifices have truly been a blessing. I am grateful to know that I have you standing next to me, helping each and every day in making this team one of the elite.
To my staff across the country. Thank you all for your service. You are truly dedicated professionals who bring a unique gift to each event and in things you do in your daily lives. You truly are hero's.
To the stock contractors, producers, personnel and rodeo contestants, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for believing in what we do. Thank you for trusting us with your lives everyday. We strive to bring you nothing but the best at every event. Your support and dedication to our program is truly something we treasure each and every day. We strive each and everyday to bring to you nothing but the best and we will continue dedicating ourselves to each of you for all years to come.
To the medical staff that we work with whether physicians, hospitals, ambulance personnel, or other allied health professionals, we would like to wish you a very special EMS week. Your dedication to Emergency Medicine is truly something that makes us proud to be in a class with true hero's.
