On December 4th the doors of the Thomas and Mack Arena will open to the 50th Wrangler National Finals Rodeo. Word around the rodeo circuit is that this is set to be one of the best events in the history of the PRCA. Several exciting events have happened within the Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association since the last NFR. All good! There is a new man at the helm of the association, Karl Stressman. Karl is certainly not new to the sport of rodeo and to what it takes to put on a top-notch event. Karl is taking the helm at a time when the PRCA has been forced by circumstances to take a close look at their organization and the future of rodeo and the results have been a new positive look at the future.

With the Wrangler ProRodeo Tour Championship presented by Texas Stampede in Dallas this past weekend in the books the final qualifying event for the 2008 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo has placed its stamp on this year's field of contenders. As Dallas closed its doors the contestants began packing for Las Vegas where from November 4th - 13th in ten rounds of heated competition they will compete for the coveted world titles and the gold buckle that comes with it.

A year ago we sent Courtney Bilderback along with her father, Johnny Dollar, Rodeo Attitude VP to Las Vegas to cover the National Rodeo Finals. For those who don’t know the NFR is the culmination of a year of hard work and competition for the members of the Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association (PRCA), rodeo’s version of the NFL or NBL. Durfey wins Canadian tie-down roping title

Tyson Durfey is a champion...He proved it again during six go-rounds of the Canadian Finals Rodeo over five days at the Rexall Place in Edmonton, Alberta, placing four times and earning $26,452 in go-round paychecks. Durfey – who wears a pink Cinch shirt during each rodeo performance in an effort to raise money and awareness in the fight against breast cancer – won the championship for the second time in three years.

The 2008 Canadian Finals Rodeo wrapped up Sunday, with the new Canadian Champions crowned in front of 15,422 fans. Bareback rider Kyle Bowers is the new Canadian champ. The Brooks, Alta. Cowboy also won Sunday’s go-round buckle, scoring an 88 on Kesler Rodeo Co.’s Street Dance.
