Jack A. Weil, 107; Entrepreneur Put Style in Western Wear

Jack A. Weil, a celebrated entrepreneur of the American West, who added snaps and snappiness to cowboy shirts and then sold those shirts to thousands who never saw the sagebrush, died Aug. 13 at his home in Denver. He was 107. The cause of death was not reported.

Manuel Henry Enos

In 1939, Manuel joined the Cowboys Turtle Association, the forerunner of the PRCA. Manuel was proud of the fact that he placed in every major rodeo in the country and that he usually entered four events.

He died in a Newcastle hospital yesterday afternoon after a battle with pneumonia, according to his family. Lindsay won three Golden Guitars and wrote more than 500 songs during his career that also included two long-running television shows – The Reg Lindsay Country Hour and Reg Lindsay Country Homestead.

Tom Hadley announced three generations of rodeo cowboys and cowgirls in 33 states and four countries. Along the way, he announced the National Finals Rodeo in 1971, 1973 and 1982. He was selected to the ProRodeo Hall of Fame in Colorado Springs, Colo., in 2001. A founding member of the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association, he was the organization's first steer wrestling champion in 1949, representing New Mexico A&M.
