With the Wrangler ProRodeo Tour Championship presented by Texas Stampede in Dallas this past weekend in the books the final qualifying event for the 2008 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo has placed its stamp on this year's field of contenders. As Dallas closed its doors the contestants began packing for Las Vegas where from November 4th - 13th in ten rounds of heated competition they will compete for the coveted world titles and the gold buckle that comes with it.

A year ago we sent Courtney Bilderback along with her father, Johnny Dollar, Rodeo Attitude VP to Las Vegas to cover the National Rodeo Finals. For those who don’t know the NFR is the culmination of a year of hard work and competition for the members of the Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association (PRCA), rodeo’s version of the NFL or NBL. First of all, for those of you that read my news and notes prior to round 5 I'm happy to report that I thought I would bet on the amount of rides we see tonight and by golly I was dead on. It was 24 bull riders that made the whistle and you had to be in the 90 point class to get the share of the money on Friday night.

The second weekend of action kicked off Thursday night at the Thomas and Mack and finding a new wave of fans has not been hard find. Tonight’s crowd hovered around 12,000 and this weekend the PBR will crown a one million dollar champion in the world finals. The check hasn't been written out yet but Guilherme Marchi is doing what he can to. However, the Brazilian is having to ride his best because there is an American bullrider from North Carolina that is trying to grab a buckle at the end of this 2 week period.
