Prairie Circuit Finals Rodeo starts at Kemper Arena

A year ago, Trell Etbauer had the advantage of a big lead in the Prairie Circuit’s all-around standings...That luxury is gone in 2008 as Etbauer prepares for the Prairie Circuit Finals Rodeo during the American Royal at Kemper Arena. The regional championship will have four go-rounds of competition starting with tonight’s sold-out event featuring the top 12 contestants in each event after the circuit season.

Freestyle Bullfighting Thrills Crowd in Ulysses, KS

Fall Fest Bull Fest, a freestyle bullfighting competition sanctioned by the Midwest Bullfighters Association, was held Saturday, October 4th, at the Grant County Fairgrounds in Ulysses KS...Twelve men competed in a format which had 3 men in each of 4 rounds. The winner of each round came back for the Championship round. After facing two fighting bulls it was Cody Calkins who won the event championship.

The rodeo industry’s best contract personnel have been hired to work the Prairie Circuit Finals Rodeo at the American Royal in Kansas City in late October...Headlining the crew are co-announcers Tim Fuller, Tulsa, Okla., and Scott Grover, Minneapolis, Kans. The tandem is no stranger to the Prairie Circuit Finals; last year, they announced the rodeo together. This is the fifth year Fuller has worked the finals; for Grover, this is his second year.

Fall Fest Freestyle Bullfighting Competition

On Saturday October 4th the Midwest Bullfighters Association will bring the excitement of freestyle bullfighting to the Grant County Fairgrounds in Ulysses, Kansas. Starting at 7:30 PM the MBA bullfighters promise a night of pure excitement that will keep you on the edge of your seat as 12 men compete for the event title against the fighting bulls from 3D Rodeo owned by Doug and Wacey Munsell.

Bareback rider Murray rebounds in rodeo

Dustin Murray is making up for lost time in the rodeo arena. Murray, a two-time Prairie Circuit bareback riding champion from Midwest City, Okla., missed much of the 2007 season after having elbow surgery in April. He started back to competition only a couple of months ago, but he’s already in top form after winning the first two rounds of the Prairie Circuit Finals Rodeo during the American Royal at Kemper Arena.

So when the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association changed its dates for the 2007 season, those close to the American Royal prepared for a different version of the rodeo that has coincided with the annual Kansas City celebration for more than 30 years. Whether it is cockiness, confidence or just being sure about his riding ability, Kasey Hayes has it. The 22-year-old bull rider from Liberal, Kan., won both go-rounds and the aggregate championship at the Professional Bull Riders event in conjunction with the American Royal at Kemper Arena.
