The associations that have bestowed this honor on Todd include the Bullriders Of America (BOA), National Federation of Professional Bullriders (NFPB), Iowa Rodeo Cowboy Association (IRCA), Missouri Rodeo Cowboy Association (MRCA), United Rodeo Association (URA), and the North American Bullriding Association (NABA). Eight Canadian Champions Named as Canadian Finals Rodeo Wraps Up 36th Year[Nov. 16, 2009] Edmonton, AB – Rexall Place was a pressure cooker during the closing performance of the 36th Canadian Finals Rodeo (CFR).
The tightest race was in the saddle bronc riding, the classic event of rodeo. The first five rounds left seven contestants with a real shot at the Canadian championship, and only one taking home the title. After an intense performance where every single contestant gave it their all, Chet Johnson of Gilette, Wyo. Picked up his first Canadian title. Johnson, who's been rodeoing in Canada for the last five years, rode Outlawbucker's Miss Congeniality to second place in the final go. His score of 86-points earned him just enough to squeeze ahead of second place finisher Jim Berry (Rocky Mountain House, Alta.), and third place rider, and go-round winner, Dustin Flundra (Pincher Creek, Alta.). Canadian Armed Forces Invade Rexall Place[Nov. 14, 2009] Edmonton, AB – The saddle bronc and bareback riders at the Canadian Finals Rodeo (CFR) tipped their hats to the men and women of the Canadian Armed Forces during the annual event's third performance.
White spotlights singled out two soldiers rappelling from the high ceiling of Rexall Place, just below the big screen, as two armoured tanks entered the arena. A platoon of soldiers marched in on foot, followed by the cowboys paying tribute to the military. By Pamela Porosky, CPRA [In International Rodeo]
LIMOS AND LOOPERS JUST THE TICKET AT CFR[Nov. 13, 2009] Edmonton, AB – It was all about the timed event end of the arena during the second performance of the Canadian Finals Rodeo (CFR) at Rexall Place. The CFR saluted the cowboys and cowgirls of tie-dwon roping, steer wrestling, ladies barrel racing and team roping with an opening ceremony that saw those contestants fringed with fireworks in the centre of the infield, as six limos drove them around the arena to the cheers of the 12,873 rodeo fans in attendance By Pamela Porosky, CPRA [In International Rodeo]
