We are currently seeking qualified individuals to join the Rodeo Attitude Sports Medicine team. We are looking for EMT's, Parmedics, Massage therapists, Athletic trainers, Chiropractors and Physicians. We have listed questions and answers to help those who are interested in applying. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

1.How do I become a sports medicine team member?
A.
The requirements for volunteer services with the Rodeo Attitude Sports Medicine Team are state licensure and/or national certification and in good standing. You must also possess a minimum of 5 years experience in sports medicine to be considered for the team. You can combine your experience between class and on the job training. The average years of experience of our staff employees is 12 years at the university and professional levels. This experience level assures that the rodeo athlete receives the ultimate in sports medicine care.

2. What will my job duties be at an event?
A.
At events, you will assist with taking medical histories on participants, you will assist with taping and duties directed by the Director and/or the Doctor. During the event you will assist in the arena with any injuries. You will assist the competitor in being removed from the arena area to the medical treatment room as well as assisting the Doctor and/or Athletic trainer before during and after each event.

3. Do you offer internships?
A. We do not offer internships due to the nature of the professional services we provide. Rodeo is a fast paced and with athletes traveling on very tight schedules they are seldom in one location long enough for multiple treatments. Clinical settings in which athletes can receive consecutive treatments on successive days are the ideal internship sites.

4. What type of education must I have to be on the Rodeo Attitude Sports Medicine team?
A
. Because all volunteers and associates working with the Rodeo attitude Sports Medicine Team are certified and/or licensed in the allied health profession, a college degree is a minimum requirement. State licensure and/or national certification, in your area of expertise are also a requirement. The next step is to have a minimum of five (5) years experience in sports medicine and/or contact sports. If you have already meet these requirements then submit a brief resume and completed application to the “contact us” address on this web site. All members must also be CPR and First Aid certified.

5. Do I have to carry insurance?
A.
All team members must carry their own malpractice insurance. Many malpractice policies also have a clause for workman's compensation. Please visit Healthcare Providers Liability Insurance for their policies. Their policies are very inexpensive and they are a great group to work with.

6. Do you have written protocol?
A.
Yes. We have a very extensive written protocol that will be given to all medical team members and contractors/producers. Our protocol are stringent, very detailed and are to be in place at all times before during and after any event.

7. Do you offer sponsorships?
A.
We do not offer educational scholarships due to a several factors. Currently, there is no funding available for scholarships specifically for rodeo sports medicine and the educational environment of rodeo is not conducive to student programs. However, there are scholarships available through education institutions that offer degrees in athletic training and physical therapy and allied health fields. Please contact your counselor at school or civic organizations in your community for more information on educational scholarships.

8. Where do I get the education to become a Rodeo Attitude Sports Medicine Team Member?
A. There are number of educational institutions offering programs in athletic training allied health and sports medicine. The place to start is your academic counselor at school. They can tell you the best educational and experience route to take to obtain a state license or national certification in athletic training and/or physical therapy. The Rodeo Attitude Sports Medicine Team will also assist you in obtaining the contact information for schools in your area of study based on the state you would like to train in.
