Bruised Ribs

Unfortunately, there is no magic cure for bruised ribs. Here's the problem, your ribs constantly move when your breathing so they never really get a chance to be stabilized. You need to use alot of ice on them, 20 minutes every 2-3 hours, protect them as best as you can in everyday activity, try not to aggrevate them. As far as riding goes, your best bet is to just rest a week or so. You can try putting an ace wrap around them to try to help give them some support, but that does not always work. The best medicine is to rest a week or so and give yourself some time to heal. The last thing that you want to do is cause more damage.

Very special thanks to Driskill for this information.
