Who I Am!

I would describe myself as “strictly cowboy” and it is the lifestyle I love. My friends tell me I am very outgoing and lots of fun to be around. Perhaps it has a lot to do with my positive attitude on everything. Although I was born with a mild case of cerebral palsy, I choose to look at this as nothing more then a gift from God. I get around on crutches and I refuse to let it stop me from doing what I want to do and chasing my dreams. My biggest dream would be to be the first ever physically challenged PBR World Champion, I like to use the word physically challenged because you are only what you believe you are and you can only be handicapped if you choose to be. For now I live my dream by working in the industry I love so much.

I don't want to go any further talking about myself without saying that I have been blessed with a wonderful therapist. They have become my second family and they never tell me I can't and I love all of them for that!

A few years ago Stefon of Annapolis Productions gave me the opportunity to sell DVDs for him. While doing this I met several people in the industry including J. W. Hart, the star of the DVD; Cindy Meyers, the CEO of Rodeo Attitude; and Bill Palanuk of TalkRodeo.info. These four people gave me the courage to open new doors and today I am also a reporter for Rodeo Attitude. Meeting and talking to the athletes and personnel in bull riding and rodeo has been a joy beyond words for me.

I love helping people and being around kids and the project I spend most of my free time on is Exceptional Rodeos. I have over the last few years had the pleasure of working with James Nolan on this project. Our goal is to find corporate sponsorship so that James can allow both exceptional people as well as school children have the opportunity to experience the joy of rodeo competition without the risk.

One of my proudest accomplishments was to achieve my black belt in karate. Learning karate was great therapy for me and also helped build my self confidence. I still have a great love for the martial arts, but rodeo keeps me busy these days. By the end of my time in karate I was working with other students as an assistant to the teacher.

Chris LeDoux’s music has always been very inspirational for me. My favorite music videos are “The Impossible” by Joe Nichols because I believe in the impossible. I believe everyone should as well. Never give up on your dreams and never let anyone tell you any differently. I am living proof that miracles do happen and if you just believe your dreams can come true as well no matter how big or small they are! The other video I really love is George Strait’s “Amarillo By Morning” because I hope to live that lifestyle some day!

Although I love any movie that has anything to do with rodeo the DVD I play regularly is “The Secret”. Although I just got it recently I know that my positive attitude is what has helped me so much in life and it is reassuring to learn that this is “the secret” to a happy life.

I look forward to visiting with everyone. Feel free to e mail me or visit me on my RodeoPages.com site.

Happy trails and God Bless!
James
