Question by Me: Do you think Nashville execs are watching this Scotty McCreery kid on American Idol this year?
As he’s singing pretty much traditonal country thus far (for this day and age that is) and watching the crowd totally erupt in a frenzy when he’s done? Songs like “The River” by Garth Brooks, “Can I trust You” by Travis Tritt, and Josh Turner songs (he’s also said he want’s to break out some Alan Jackson at some point)..I mean,people like US on this site may know these songs,but for much of the vewing audience on AI,it’s the first time they ever heard this stuff and they are going NUTS and eating it up..To me it should be proof people WANT to hear this.

I know it may be a bit of a stretch,but can a 17 yr old kid on frigging American Idol of all places,bring some real country music back to the mainstream?

Yes. He is far more memorable than other contestants on the show even if he doesn’t make top two. He is one of my favorites on the show.
