BLUESTEM WINE is a 4 year old son of one of the most popular bulls of all time, Blueberry Wine. Bluestem is out of a Plummer cow I bought from Elmer Anderson.

Elmer is from Guthrie, Oklahoma and used to trade outs with Charlie Plummer. Elmer acquired Charlie's bull CP 117 and bred to him for a number of years producing many great animal athletes including Bluestems dam #99. I met Elmer back in 1992 and have seen many great bulls come from this program over the years. So, the first 13 bucking heifers I ever bought, came from the Anderson's.

Bluestem has been bucked but not as much as I had hoped. He spends most of his time with the ladies and me being on the road kept him from getting any outs. So, I sent him to Herrington Cattle Company to gain some experience. Their flankman, Doug Butcher, called me when Bluestem bucked and said, "he's the closest thing to Blueberry Wine bucking I have ever seen, he's RANK." I said that's good enough for me, let's get him back on the cows.

As a sire, Bluestem's first calf crop will be coming two years old in the spring of 2007. According to our customers that own Bluestem bull calves, they are REALLY bucking. Thanks to Martin Simms, Hugh Daw, David Hughes, and Casey Simpson for the positive feedback.
