Rodeo Attitude Program
What is the Rodeo Attitude Program?

The best definition of the Rodeo Attitude Program would be to say a networking consortium of individuals involved in the sport of rodeo and the Western lifestyle.  The Rodeo Attitude Program is an umbrella for all individuals involved in and dedicated to the sport of rodeo and its individual events from bull riding to team roping.  It is designed to promote the sport of rodeo at all levels of competition.  Not all athletes will compete in the PRCA, PBR, or IPRA, or one of the other major associations - the major leagues of rodeo.   The majority will spend their rodeo careers in local and regional associations, the minor leagues.   As in all sports, one level cannot survive without the other.

The Rodeo Attitude Program is designed to promote not only the rodeo associations and their members but also the host committees and their events.  We work with the sponsors that help fund the sport and provide a service to the fans who love it.  We also promote what we consider to be the very best side of rodeo, the Cowboy Ministries, Western Wishes, Friends of Rodeo, the various contestant relief funds and the use of sports medicine doctors at events.

How does the program work?

The first part of the program is the Rodeo Attitude Web Site.  The web site is designed to be a series of user-friendly directories of the best rodeo and western sites on the Internet. All links are reviewed and all sites are the “official sites” of the organization or people they represent.

The web site also contains what we consider to be the best Travel Directory on the Internet. From this directory you can plan an entire trip from your computer.

Another unique feature of the web site is its Web Resource Directory. Using this directory it is possible to check out all the news of the day or check a subject on several different search engines with minimum hassle.   It is a great resource for students.  This directory includes a link to the best white and yellow page directory in the industry.

The one section of our web site that is not a directory and that sets Rodeo Attitude apart from other directories is the Front Page News. This section includes news stories from over 4,500 sources, press releases from rodeo organizations and articles and reports written by our program members exclusively for Rodeo Attitude.   In our reports on events we try and point out the positive things we see at each rodeo and  to give our readers information that will help them select the best rodeos to attend.  Special feature writers include Gail Hughbanks-Woerner, world famous rodeo historian.  Dan Stiles, pastor for the CBR and member of the PBRO, not only contributes outstanding articles of his own and a bi-monthly devotional, and R. Todd Crase uses his years of rodeo experience to give us outstanding articles, "From the Bull Pen".

Membership

Our Program is not a sponsorship program per se.  Members do receive free or discounted promotional products to help promote the program and themselves, but it is most importantly a networking program.    To be selected as a member should be considered an honor.  To be in the program a person must exemplify the qualities we believe we want our children to see in the world today. We believe that while they are in the public eye they should behave in a way that they and the other members of the program will be proud of.  All participants in the program have been recommended by five of their peers for this honor.  The members of the program are indicated on the web site by red dots by their names.  To those using the web as a means of hiring personnel for events  or looking for companies to do business with, this red dot tells them that Rodeo Attitude has verified at least five references for these individuals giving them a certain degree of confidence in hiring them or using their services.  In order to protect the integrity of the program, we must likewise, if five or more members submit request that a participant be removed from the program for behavior involving rodeo that will harm the image of the sport and it is ascertained that indeed the member has been involved in such behavior that person will loose their red dot and be suspended from the program.   Matters involving a members personal life that does not effect their performance in the industry or the public image of Rodeo Attitude are not cause for loss of membership.  We do not become involved in members individual business dealings.   As a networking group we encourage members to interact with each other and support each others businesses.  One member treating another member unfairly in a business deal that effects the others business in a negative manner within the industry can be considered as cause for suspension.

As the website is one of the major tools used to promote our members and our program any member who does not have a web site is provided with a simple web site.  Those who wish more elaborate sites are given the option to purchasing a more elaborate site for one of the lowest rates in the business.

Several associations and committees have also chosen to join the program and have agreed to promote the program at their events.  In return we offer our services to these associations at discounts, provide them with association message boards and make every effort to give coverage of these associations on our Front Page News.  We encourage our athlete members to support these associations.

Merchants may join the Program as Merchant Members.  Fans may join as Fan Members.

Rates for the different memberships are listed below.

Participants of the program agree to promote the Rodeo Attitude site and program that it will be able to not only help them but the sport of rodeo as a whole.

We currently have members in all areas of the United States from the East Coast to the West Coast.  Our Board of Directors and Associate Board members are available along with the rest of the staff to assist our members with promotions or in any other way we may assist them.

Corporate sponsors who purchase advertising packages are listed on all our promotional materal.  All members agree to help distribute this promotional material and to support our Corporate Sponsors when possible. Neither Rodeo Attitude nor the sport of rodeo can survive without sponsors spending their advertising dollars with us.

All members of the program with the exception of athletes, rodeo photographers and fans assist in the cost of maintaining the program with a monthly administrative fee of $10 ($120 yearly).  Rodeo photographers in the program donate pictures to the program for its use and to allow us certain discounts to be negotiated on a case by case basis.
Promotions

Rodeo Attitude staff and members attend many events promoting the Rodeo Attitude Program and its Corporate Sponsors.  Host committees usually allow us an area for a booth and often a hospitality area.  Our major sponsor’s banners are displayed around this area.  We also organize autograph sessions with athletes and rodeo personnel in this area.

Other ways we promote the program, it’s members and sponsors include vehicle lettering and decals, banners, barrel stickers, and patches.
