What is the Rodeo Attitude Program?

The simplest definition of the Rodeo Attitude Program is a networking consortium of individuals involved in the sport of rodeo and the preservation of our Western Heritage.  It is designed to promote the sport of rodeo at all levels of competition.  Not all athletes will compete in the PRCA, PBR, or IPRA, or one of the other major associations - the major leagues of rodeo.   The majority will spend their rodeo careers in local and regional associations, the minor leagues.   As in all sports, one level cannot survive without the other.

The Rodeo Attitude Program is designed to promote not only the rodeo associations and their members but also the host committees and their events.  We work with the sponsors that help fund the sport and provide a service to the fans who love it.  We also promote what we consider to be the very best side of rodeo, the Cowboy Ministries, Western Wishes, Friends of Rodeo, the various contestant relief funds and the use of sports medicine doctors at events.

The sport of rodeo and the country music industry grew out of our rich Western Heritage.  This heritage made the American cowboy an icon in world history and helped make this country great.  It is our goal to help with the preservation of this heritage.

How does the program work?

Rodeo Attitude is not an association.  We are not a union and we do not consider ourselves an organization.  We prefer the term program.  Our members do pay yearly administrative fees.  These fees are used to maintain the website and help pay other expenses incurred in managing the program.  The main source of revenue for the program is obtained through advertising packages to corporate sponsors, service fees and merchandising.  Rodeo Attitude, LLC is the corporate entity responsible for the business management of the program.   Upon acceptance to the program and payment of yearly administrative fees members are entitled to the various benefits membership in the program allows.

The major tool used by the Program is the website, www.rodeoattitude.com.  This site is designed to be a source of information for everyone involved in the sport and the western lifestyle no matter what their position.  It is also where we are able to inform others as to who our members are and what services they offer to the industry.

The major role of the program is to serve as a networking tool within the industry.  Members are encouraged to network within each other and to keep the officers and directors of the program informed of any information that would be of interest or could help others in the industry.  The officers and directors are always available to answer questions or help located services for not only our members but from anyone interested in the sport and the western lifestyle.

Membership

Our Program is not a sponsorship program per se.  Members do receive benefits including free or discounted promotional products to help promote themselves, their businesses, events or associations, but it is most importantly a networking program.    To be selected as a member should be considered an honor.  To be selected as  a member of the program a person must exemplify the qualities we believe we want our children to see in the world today. We believe that while they are in the public eye they should behave in a way that they and the other members of the program will be proud of.  All participants in the program have been recommended by five of their peers for this honor.  The members of the program are indicated on the website by red dots by their names.  To those using the web as a means of hiring personnel for events  or looking for companies to do business with, this red dot tells them that Rodeo Attitude has verified at least five references for these individuals.   This enables them a certain degree of confidence in hiring them or using their services.  In order to protect the integrity of the program, we must likewise, if five or more members submit request that a participant be removed from the program for behavior involving rodeo that will harm the image of the sport and it is ascertained that indeed the member has been involved in such behavior that person will loose their red dot and be suspended from the program.   Matters involving a members personal life that does not effect their performance in the industry or the public image of Rodeo Attitude are not cause for loss of membership.  We do not become involved in members individual business dealings.   As a networking group we encourage members to interact with each other and support each others businesses.  One member treating another member unfairly in a business deal that effects the others business in a negative manner within the industry can be considered as cause for suspension.

As the website is one of the major tools used to promote our members and our program any member who does not have a website is provided with a simple web site.  Those who wish more elaborate sites are given the option to purchasing a more elaborate site based on their needs at the special low membership rate.

Several associations and committees have also chosen to join the program and have agreed to promote the program at their events.  In return we offer our services to these associations at discounts, provide them with association message boards and make every effort to give coverage of these associations on our Front Page News.  We encourage our athlete members to support these associations and committees.

Merchants may join the Program as Merchant Members which has specific benefits for merchants.  Benefits include but not limited to the following: Listed in the member's section of the RodeoTrader with special recognition in their individual directories; Featured on the Front Page a minimum of once a month; Rotated on the bottom of new pages on the site; Profiled in the Merchant Members Profile Series once during the year; Eligible to sell selected Rodeo Attitude merchandise; and they will be eligible for any general program discounts and benefits as they become available.
