PETA is at it again -  Click for PETA's newest press release.  How sad it is that actresses and other celebrities are willing to degrade themselves for what they think is a good cause and they are so misinformed.  They are, in fact, supporting one of the largest terrorist groups in America today.  My feeling is if they want to support this effort with out knowing the facts that the rodeo industry needs to boycott their endeavors.  The actresses in question are Pamela Anderson, Alicia Silverstone, Kim Basinger, and Christy Turlington.  The just proves that  winning an Academy Award just makes you a good actress and nothing more.  If they want to use this to promote their ideals they would be wise to check out who they are promoting.  Just think of all the good these ladies could do if they promoted a program that encouraged young girls to respect themselves and to strive for their dreams.  Oh, yes, that is what rodeo does!  These ladies missed the mark.  BOYCOTT THEIR PROJECTS!  SEND A MESSAGE TO HOLLYWOOD!

One of the hardest working organizations in rodeo today is Friends of Rodeo.  It has been brought to our attention that they are running very low on funds.  They operate entire on donations and memberships.  Please take a moment and visit their site and if you are a member see if your dues are due.  Friends of Rodeo

Animal Rights or Animals Enemies

Each day I scan the news for stories I feel will be of  interest to the readers of this page.  More and more what I find are stories regarding people trying to ban rodeo, not just in this country but world wide.  Here is today's example:

"Call to boycott rodeo brutality"

I know I harp on this a lot but we must take these people seriously simply because they don't know what they are talking about.  They spend a lot of time and money trying to find that one person who does not represent the sport as a whole doing something wrong and then exploiting it to raise funds from poor, misguided individuals who believe they are "helping" poor defenseless animals.  They never give the true picture of the love and care these animals receive.  They don't want the people who are giving them money to run around like chickens with their heads cut off  spreading vicious untruths about the people involved in rodeo how much we love and respect and care for animals.  How these animals in many cases become "members" of the family.  

How can  you as an individual help?  By keeping informed.  By supporting Friends of Rodeo and Rodeo Attitude.  By writing your legislative representatives at both state and national urging them to preserve the one true American sport and protect our athletes and fans from these "terrorist".

Ok, ok, we all knew they were off the wall, but the latest antics of PETA to destroy rodeo are so unbelievable you have to read about it yourself. Story
 
Now that you have read it, here is my thoughts. First as you all know I believe the worst enemy all animals have on this earth is PETA. They want to take away their very reason to exist. So if you get past that lets look at how ridiculous it is to ask a town to change its name just because you don't like the meaning of the name. The town was named for a valuable part of their history, so what, they are going to change their history? Oh yeah, they suggest  they rename the town after an oil company. Why don't someone tell the environmentalist fanatics about this. I am sure they will love that. They don't like oil companies any better than PETA likes rodeo. One last thought. Have you ever tried to get a child to eat a veggie burger? We can laugh at their ridiculous antics but we must never turn our backs on them. There is nothing more dangerous in the world than ignorance.  UPDATE TO STORY
