animals at cowboy games
MARKHAM -- As thousands of spectators cheered for cowboys being tossed from bucking broncos yesterday, a two dozen animal rights protesters chanted "hey hey, no no, the rodeo has got to go."
Stationed near the entrance gates to the Markham Fairgrounds, where cowboy-boot clad rodeo enthusiasts gathered for The Great Markham Rodeo, roughly 25 people blared their message from a megaphone.

Goes After Hillary Duff for
appearing at rodeos
Hollywood star HILARY DUFF is under fire from an animal rights group after scheduling tour dates at rodeos and bullfight arenas.
Duff, who was previously the darling of animal activists after launching her own line of cruelty-free cosmetics, played a run of gigs throughout last year (05) at the Houston Rodeo in Texas, and is planning to perform at a bullfight arena in Barcelona, Spain.
But animal campaigners Showing Animals Respect And Kindness (SHARK) were disgusted by her choice of venues, and since mailed her grisly tapes of cruel behaviour in rodeos and bullfights.

Found at Horse Ranches
CASTRO VALLEY — The FBI is attempting to get to the bottom of several acts of vandalism in which someone sprayed "ALF" — an acronym for the Animal Liberation Front — on properties where horses are boarded, authorities said on Monday.
Vandals sprayed graffiti on a horse trailer and ranch signs in the Crow Canyon area, scrawling the initials of the animals rights organization, which is considered a domestic terrorist threat, said Lt. Bill Gaudinier, spokesman for the Alameda County Sheriff's Department.

agree with her more and

carries very admirable

Cowgirl Hall of Fame in

Bull
riding show draws animal rights boosters
The
PBR Enterprise Tour Event, Bridgeport, CT
Jan 20-21, was the most recent target of
the animal right group SHARK who was
joined by members of two more groups, Animal Rights Front and Compassion in
Entertainment. The article
below is an excellent example of the
ignorance of these protestors.
Whether they really detered anyone from
attending the event is unknown but the
fact that they got publicity proves we
must continue to publicize the truth.

The
following essay was written by Hannah
Kindig for her American Literature
class. Hannah lives in
Orangeville, Pennsylvania. She is
a junior at Pennsylvania Leadership
Charter School. Hannah has been a
regular contributor to our message board
and attends several events each year.
She is an avid fan of rodeo and
describes it as "my passion, I
can't imagine life without it."
