Since beginning his career in rodeo announcing in September 1997, J. W. has become a real asset behind the microphone. He is so dedicated to being the “Best in the Business”, he has attended the Rodeo Academy in Oklahoma City and been instructed by two National Finals Rodeo announcers, Zoop Dove and Zeb Bell to improve his rodeo announcing skills. With his dedication, enthusiasm and knowledge of the western lifestyle, you can be assured that he will bring his excitement and professionalism to your rodeo or western event. Known for his love, dedication and promoting of the great sport of rodeo, he has become an asset to his sponsors, your sponsors and rodeo committees. With his knowledge, hard work, western voice and smooth delivery, he has announced rodeos in 26 states and over 20 associations including the famous Cody Night Rodeo!!
After a very busy year J. W. topped off 2001 by emceeing the PBR Blackjack Tournament held in conjunction with the Bud Light Cup Championship in Las Vegas. J. W. had been a member of the Rodeo Attitude Program and it was at the PBR finals that Rodeo Attitude president, Cindy Meyers announced the appointment of J. W. as Western Regional Director. J. W.’s first job in this position was to represent Rodeo Attitude at the PRCA National Convention and Finals Rodeo. J. W. did such an excellent job in this position that he is now a member of the Rodeo Attitude Corporate Board of Directors and is always available to assist anyone in rodeo, as is the goal of the Rodeo Attitude Program.
In 2002 J. W. earned his PRCA card and was asked back to the PBR Blackjack tournament. He represented Rodeo Attitude at both the PBR Finals and the NFR and was selected to emcee the Country Christmas Fair at the NFR.
