What can you give a sponsor that no one else can? why would anybody want to sponsor you? These are questions that you need to ask yourself before you even ask for a sponsorship.

i think it will be hard to get a sponsorship without some type of rodeo experience. that would be like buying a car with no motor in it, but a promise that you'll get your motor.

I got lucky with my sponsor, MudJug.com, i haven't won any events yet, but i wrote them an email and spoke with them about a sponsorship. I'm not getting money at this point, but as long as I can keep in contact with them and try my best to help them, they will help me in return.

I'd say get a year under your belt and go from there. It ain't cheap, but it's worth it ;)

And as a sidenote, NFPB dual sanctions with IPRA and BOA a lot. And there are a lot of BOA events down your way. D Bar D has some of the best bulls I think I've bucked, and they are right there in missouri. so if you decide to go with NFPB, you may as well get the BOA card ($75) and if you have the money, your IPRAA Card ($300). and the thing that has kept me from going with the PRCA until I'm out of school is the fact that you are a permit holder the first season as you are in PBR. I'd rather ride as a cardholder so if I do well enough, I can make finals, build me up some money, then shoot for the big time.

Sponsorships are not meant for the guys just starting out. I am sorry but they are meant as a reward for a job well done for the long haul. why do you think all the toughs have the sposorships? Because the sponsors come to them knowing that they will get the bang for the buck they desire and require. Once again, what can you give them that they can't get somewhere else? You have to ask that question of yourself before you go to a sponsor because I gaurentee they will ask you that and then what will you say?

exactly. what i have with mudjug is, at this point, more of a partnership that can become more as I improve and show them that I am going to stick around for the long haul.
