Ok, well, I found out who some of the sponsors are, some of the locals and Wrangler...Anyone know who some of the riders are? I'm just curious, I'm
planning on taking the kids, we've taken a break from bull riding practice since it's just too darn cold up here, we'll start back up when it's back
in the 30's and 40's,(that's a heat wave compared to what it's been!)...but I'd still like for them to watch and learn a bit while we're waiting, so
this is a good opportunity...

I'd love to go both nights, but I've got too much going on this weekend already I
think I'm going to have to settle for Friday, even though I'd rather go Saturday. I have to work on Saturday and then I have a meeting on Sunday that
I have to be ready for, it's my final meeting to get approved to be a Foster Mom...(I'm soooo nervous!!)
Anyhow, I'd say I'd see ya there, but I have no idea who you are or what you look like, LOL! Do you ride? If so we'll cheer for ya! Well,
inadvertantly... we'll be cheering for all the riders!! LOL!
Thanks so much for all the info!

Sorry to hear about your foot christcowboy Hope you're back out there in no time,
so maybe we can cheer for you at some point down the road! Tell your friends good luck, we're hoping for great rides and no injuries! And if you see a
woman with three kids (2 boys and a 16 yr. old girl) wandering around checking out the bulls, that'll be me, lol, come say hi! And if I see a cowboy
hobbling around with a broken foot, lol, I'll probably assume it's you and make an *** out of myself and say hi probably to the wrong person! Tsk tsk
tsk! I am really good at sticking my foot in my mouth!!
Thanks Jim, I'm sure I'll have a great time! I love taking the kids out, especially for bullriding or rodeo events! The boys don't know yet,(it's a
surprise) but my daughter does and she's really excited...I can't wait to see the boys' faces when we get there!
I'll be sure to post on how the bullriding was for Friday night, probably not till Monday though...sorry...
Thanks for the good luck wish on my meeting! I've wanted to do this for years! My parents were foster parents, and although I know you can't save the
world, it means the world to those one or two that you can save!

Ok, well, I did get to go both nights, thanks to my daughter and my friend who decided to chip in and get the last of my painting done for me while I
was at work on Saturday for my Sunday meeting, which by the way went great, I am non-officially a Foster Mom, we still have to finalize the paperwork
and then it's official!!
So, anyhow....Friday night I was completely un-prepared(not unusual for me), I did not have a pen or marker, couldn't even buy one off of any of the
concession stands, ect, I tried...So as far as stats for Friday, I have none...Sorry...
The arena seemed really small, but there were a lot of people there, so I believe the turn-out was good for such a small place, I do not know enough
about it to be an accurate judge...They did not recite the cowboy prayer, that was odd, or are they not doing that anymore? IDK...I thought they did
at the last bullbash I went to? I could be wrong...And anyone feel free to correct me if I am, lol!
The riders were great, there were a couple that got banged up pretty bad, I think Willy Robb was one of them, I do not know how he's doing, I hope ok,
but he did not ride on Saturday, so I'm guessing he got hurt pretty bad...So, we all hope that he has a quick recovery! The young riders that rode
after the first half, did really great too, a couple got banged around pretty hard too, but I'm pretty sure they all were back for Saturday night's
ride...
For the record, if I am wrong on any part of this, please correct me, it is the first time I really paid attention to who was who, and what's what and
tried keeping track and writing it down, lol, and it was very hard both nights to understand the announcer, half the time I was saying, "what, what
did he just say, who is it??!!" LOL! So anyhow, here are the stats for Saturday that I did get, again if any are wrong please correct me!
Long Go-Round (Saturday)
Henry Yoder, Garnett, KS- 70.5: 85 on his re-ride (great ride the first time, but the re-ride was awesome!)
Jason Kircher, Barron, WI- No Score (started out a great ride!)
Jake Weber, Gillette, WI- No Score
Wayne Mas, Barron, WI- 78 ( had a really good ride)
Justin Berghuis, Alden, IA- No Score
Joey Koupal, Dante, SD- No Score
Andrew Coughlin, Devsmet, SD- 66 ( I thought he should have gotten a little more than that, lol)
Billy Roe, Dayton, IA- 77 ( a really good ride!)
Justin Shreve, Ogden, IA- 72
Seth Anderson, Alden, IA- No Score
Matt Pojanowski, Woodbury, MN- was 1st from the night before, but only got a 77 Saturday night
Kenneth Schrader, Kearney, NE- 87 or 88? was a bit confused on what the announcer was saying
Cainan Call, Thedford, NE- No Score
Curt Check, Eastman, WI- only was on 7.1 seconds, but man it was an awesome ride!
Nathan Wall, Eastman, WI- 81, it was a great ride!
Brad Check, Eastman, WI- 84-had an awesome ride, but was injured very badly at the end, he got hung up and was rushed to the hospital as far as I
know...We all hope that he has a speedy recovery, if anyone hears anything on how he is, we would like to know, so please post!
Kyle Muller, Bagley, WI- 76, had a good ride!
Jason Branham, Solon, IA- No Score
John Susie, Correctionville, IA- 76
Justin Backer, Jamestown, ND- 81, was a really good ride!
Levi Stepp, Lincoln, NE- got hurt, but was walking a bit later.
Jimmy Tweed, San Antonio, TX- 67: 76.9 with his re-ride
This list and the next is not complete; as I stated before, it was hard to understand the announcer, so sorry for anyone that I missed scores on...
Championship Short Go-Round
Henry Yoder-84.5 on Boogie Shoes
Billy Roe- No Score on Buck Cherry
Nathan Wall- No Score on Shook Me All Night Long: lost it at 7.6 sec.
Kenneth Schrader- (I'm not positive but I believe it was a No Score)
Couldn't catch the 17 year old's name who got third place or who got first place!!??
So after all that, I've decided to stick to my day job, and not become a reporter for rodeo, LMAO, because , #1 :, I'm just no good at it, lol!
#2 :,I'd rather just watch and enjoy the show than the hassles of trying to keep track!! (especially with kids ringing in your ear, very hard to keep
track!)
So how our two nights went:
My two boys went on Friday with their sister and I and a friend, they had a blast! They got several autograghs which really gave them a great boost!
We took my daughter and my friend's 13 yr. old sister on Saturday, got some more autograghs for the boys(they had to go to their dad's that night),
and the girls, plus I got to chat with Henry Yoder for a few minutes afterwards...That was pretty awesome, he's a really nice kid, that gave some
really good advice for the boys starting out! We, well I, got harrassed both nights by one of the security gaurds, lol, I just must always look like
I'm guilty or up to something 'cause he nabbed me the first night I walked in, checked my pockets, and from there on out every time I ran into him he
gave me a little grief, not that we didn't give it back, lol! He threatened the last night to remove me by my ears, lol, I thought that was a little
rough since he's way bigger than I, but I'm sure I could have taken him, LMAO!! It was all in good fun!
One last and final comment: I was very impressed with all the riders and bullfighters that we got the pleasure of meeting at the autogragh tables, it
was so great to see these young kids and men that were so pleasant and polite! WOW, what a sigh of relief in today's world!! Great job and Kudos to
the parents who raised and are raising them!! We had a great time!

In answer to your question about the prayer at the beginning of the event. I announce a lot of events and have yet to do one where we don't pray to
start it out. I have been to a lot of big events also both PRCA and PBR and while it may be a generic prayer that does not mention Jesus or the
jewish/christian God by name, they all pray before the event and at PBR's about half the guys take a knee in the arena during the prayer. But, each
person and producer is different, so maybe they were afraid that a prayer would make someone mad. I for one though would not announce or be a part of
an event that did not ask God to be there and bless the riders, livestock, fans and myself.

Thanks for the info. Dan! I'm postive they did say a little prayer in the beginning, it just wasn't the "cowboy prayer"... and I do not believe that
they took a knee, although I did have a horse's behind in my way thorugh a lot of the announcements! LOL! But it did not look like they knelt...I am
in no way anyone to judge how a rodeo should be ran, lol, I just thought it odd, and wasn't sure if that got taken away too because of, like you
mentioned, offending someone...Thanks again!

Nice report!
Sounds like you had a great time.
I know of some of the riders you mentioned (one of them even has a forum section here).
And yeah, I go to smaller bull riding events too, and the guys are all really nice.
Congratulations on your foster Mom meeting!

I would think that a lot of the same riders from last year would possibly attend? I'm pretty sure I'm going again, I think I'm going to take the kids
one day, and then be seflish and go myself with a friend or two the next day, so we can possibly go out afterwards for awhile... We'll see...
Kuroro, You must be a bit further North than me, we're at least still in the 50's ...

It's 49 today in S.W WI, it was supposed to be in the 60's, lol, but with the wind it's not happening...There's still hope for tomorrow... I should
relax about winter coming, lol, I am pretty much ready and prepared for it, have plenty of hay in the barn, the fences snugged up and fixed, had my
driveway re-done, and got my tie stalls built if needed, so even though I still shudder at the thought of winter, lol, I am for the first time ever...
prepared ahead of time!!!! Of course there's always more to do(work is never done) and always last minute emergencies, I'm just happy to be as
prepared as I am, lol!!! It's a good feeling!

The riders used to be much tougher back when I rode before they started taking steroids.
