The Missouri
State Fair hosted this year's MRCA Finals Rodeo Aug. 7-9. One of the
highlights of this year's finals was a presentation made by MRCA President
Sharon Clark. Mike, Mary Beth and Amy Gillum, owners of Outlaw, were
recognized in the arena for 20 years of bringing rodeo excellence to MRCA
sanctioned rodeos and participating at the Finals each year.
Outlaw Rodeo personnel were a big part of the Finals this year as
well. Co-owner Lance McCollum and Justin "Credible"
Patterson were given Pick-Up Man duties for all three performances.
Joey McCollum, Lance's wife, was selected as the Finals Timer.
Keeping everyone informed and entertained from the announcer's stand was
the voice of Outlaw, Dr. Mark Ficken. Mike Gillum was in charge of
the roushstock end of the arena as the Arena Director. Both of
Outlaw's bullfighters were on hand for cowboy protection as well.
Mick "Greezy" Niemeier made his first trip to Sedalia and Benny
"Top Gun" Prilwetz returned again.
Some
of Outlaw Rodeo's livestock and events won year-end awards as well.
New Rodeo of the Year recognition went to the Heart of the Ozarks Fair in
West Plains, MO. The Mark Twain Lake rodeo won both Gold Buckle
Rodeo of the Year and Best Ground. Orscheln's Kid Rock (#402)
recieved Bareback Horse of the Year honors for the second year in a
row. Saddle Bronc of the Year went to Orscheln's Wango Tango
(#P). And, making it a clean sweep, Orscheln's Hey Ya (#221) won
Bull of the Year for the second time in as many
years. |
